voty 2024 leadership recognised

“Every peer, past and present, has helped me become the leader I am today. What we achieve and create is only possible through a committed, disciplined, and passionate team.” These heartfelt words come from Marianne Vincent, a leader whose contributions to her field have not gone unnoticed.

Marianne was recently honoured with a bronze award in the Leader of the Year category at the prestigious HR Vendors of the Year Awards 2024, Malaysia. This recognition celebrates individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Human Resources industry while showcasing exceptional leadership qualities. Marianne’s achievement is a testament to her dedication, innovation, and influence in her profession.

Reflecting on her recognition, Marianne shared, “I’m very glad to see that the judges acknowledge the contributions to HR and Learning & Development from a technical leader like myself — as the Director of Training Quality — since the finalists are typically business heads. Last year, Joshua Ng, our Head of Instructional Design, won Gold in Singapore. His achievement highlights the recognition of impactful contributions from a Head of Practice. This underscores the significance of specialised roles and the vital impact they have on the industry.”

Marianne’s words shine a light on an often-overlooked aspect of the HR and L&D professions: the critical contributions of technical and specialised roles. Her recognition, along with Joshua’s prior success, reinforces the importance of celebrating diverse leadership and expertise within the field.

As the profession evolves, we all hope to see continued acknowledgment of individuals who embody leadership, innovation, and dedication — regardless of their titles or roles. Their contributions, whether on the frontline or behind the scenes, play a pivotal role in shaping the future of HR and L&D.
