Rethinking L&D: The Truth Is Out There

Synopsis:
What if everything we do is wrong? What if we have actually made something fairly straightforward to become overly complicated (and expensive)? What if all those success stories we hear are not due to the correct L&D strategy but due to other reasons? Is there a more simple, reasonable and less-pretentious way to manage L&D?

HR Design Thinking Jam: Reframing the role of HR and rethinking how we work in our organisations!

Synopsis:
This fun and high-powered 120-minute jamming session will give you the opportunity to explore how Design Thinking can be applied to the key challenges and opportunities faced by HR practitioners today. Design Thinking provides new perspectives for tackling age-old problems through 3 dynamic process steps: Empathy, Ideas and Action. Design Thinking has been proven to help companies develop solutions that are technologically feasible, commercially viable and emotionally attractive for the key stakeholders involved. Now it is HR's turn to benefit, but first we need you to contribute!

You will get the chance to crowd-source a portfolio of creative ideas that you can take home to test out in your organisation.

Examples from previous sessions:
• How might we increase the value HR provides to the Business Units?
• How might HR deliver a better service experience to employees and business partners?
• How can we boost the knowledge, skills and attitudes of our employees more effectively?
• How might we increase employee engagement and retention?
• What would HR look like if it was co-designed by employees and BUs?
• How might we rethink organisational culture and work environment with multi-generational audiences in mind?
• How can we innovate key functions in HR?
• How might our training programmes provide more value to different departments?
• What if we could re-connect people with their passions?

Instead of just talking, the HR Jam is characterised by collaborative action that produces a number of low resolution prototypes in a very short time. As a positive side effect, powerful tools and techniques are explored in the “learning by doing” mode. As a bonus we offer 2 Design Thinking Tools free of charge to all participants. You can be a design thinker too!

Effective Leadership Through Engagement In A Fair Process

Synopsis:
A business simulation mimics how an actual system with people works, so that it can be explored, experimented upon and understood before it is implemented in the real world. Experience putting together the what, whys and hows of fair process leadership in a simulation. See how, as a leader, you can invite and engage team members and colleagues in your team, together with stakeholders in the business space, to exhibit more leadership by inquiring into the decisions they make, the rationale for those ideas and thoughts, and what the expectations would be if that activity or project was executed successfully. Thinking and working through the simulation in this workshop itself would leave you inevitably more aware about this key and crucial requirement to exercise leadership more effectively.

What Makes A Resilient Organisation?

Synopsis:
The heart of resilience is to be calm and effective in the critical moments that count. Busyness is epidemic – individuals and teams who find ways to cultivate steadiness, vitality, emotional responsiveness and strong minds have a significant advantage over those who do not develop a resilience practice.

A Resilient organisation is calm, energised, engaged, focused and purposeful. Leaders and people cultivate health, happiness and productivity. This attracts, retains and motivates all stakeholders, and supports engagement.

This two-hour workshop is a cut down version of our signature “Practical Resilience” programme, focusing on current best practices and immediately implementable problem solving frameworks to optimise individual and team performance without compromising wellbeing.

The first twenty participants to register to this session will receive a complimentary online individual Resilience assessment. Reporting on 60 factors of resilience, the assessment will provide a comprehensive report defining personal strengths and opportunities for development. More information on our Resilience Diagnostic here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gi_6HnrDi8

The Resilience Institute has trained over 50,000 professionals over the past two decades through a unique development model bringing together sport and preventative medicine, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, cognitive therapies and neuroscience.
