I am cheerful and happy most of the time.

I work well in teams and need very little 'emotional maintenance'.

My Ideal Job (pick one)

Scholarly Practitioner: Enjoys the challenge of projects that require substantial intellectual exploration.

This simple survey should give you an idea of your chances of being hired. Our hiring process is time-consuming for candidates and for our managers – but in the long run it saves everyone a lot of time and minimizes unhappiness caused by mismatched expectations.

Who We Are

People Potential is a Management Development consultancy with offices in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur and representation in Dubai. Our consultants train and coach multinational corporations and government bodies in about 20 countries across 5 continents.

We have four Practice Areas focused on People Development solutions:

a. Business Presentations;

b. Group Solutions;

c. Leadership, Management & Change;

d. Professional Productivity.

Our Content Specialists work with our R&D department  to develop solutions that often incorporate technologies / methodologies like Accelerated Learning, NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) and Open Space Technology.

Some of Our People-Centred Practices

5-day week with flexi-hours.

Annual leave is usually self-determined, i.e. the supervisor's approval is not needed. Similarly, for short-duration sick leave, no medical certificate or other proof is required.

Various other types of leave are available: Paternity, Community Service/Retreat, Celebration, Study, etc.

As an organization, we decline work from certain industries. Furthermore, we allow our practitioners to decline work on grounds of personal conscience.

Work-from-home option.

Office attire: casual, unless visiting clients.

Everyone on first-name basis.

Open-book policy: all finances are disclosed, including everyone's salaries and benefits (yes, including senior management's).

Some Complaints We Have Heard About Our Practices and Policies

Our practitioners sometimes have to travel on Saturday or Sunday. Even though such travel is compensated with additional Annual Leave, it can be disruptive to personal weekend commitments.

Our business is driven by client demands and during crunch times the work-week might stretch to 60 hours or more, resulting in late nights or lost weekends. This probably happens about 2-4 weeks each quarter.

While we have a 40-hr workweek policy (with very flexible hours), in reality most practitioners have to put in 10-20 extra hours each week for their own preparations for a workshop. This is true not just for new practitioners but also for senior practitioners because the latter are often called upon to take on more complex client engagements.

New hires sometimes have lots of ideas on how to change things, but many of these are deemed unsuitable by senior management. It can be frustrating. In the first 2-3 years of employment practitioners are expected to experience our policies, practitices and culture and build skills to produce good results with clients. With good results come increased influence (and, usually, a better appreciation of the why some policies/practices are what they are).

Our Hiring Process

We are very careful about the professionals we hire because of the demands of our international work. Our hiring process takes at least 6 weeks and usually includes the following:

Application Form

Group Interview

Individual Interview, including

  • Online Survey
  • Tests for Comprehension,  Conceptualising and basic Presentation Skills
  • Demonstration of knowledge (may require self-study of a specific book)
